Sunday 22 January – So Great a Mystery (ii)

The material world is a mysterious place of wonder, beauty, and danger, but it is only a part of our experience. The mind is our means of perceiving reality, and is itself a mysterious realm. The philosopher Heraclitus of Ephesus said: “One cannot discover the limits of the mind (psyche) by any road, so deep is its nature (logos).” Our everyday minds are often confused and far from perfect, but ancient tradition says that beneath the outer layer lies a stratum that is clear, wise, and compassionate, and in harmony with the basic nature of the Universe. Meditation is the way to realise this aspect of the mind in our daily lives and find our true nature and purpose.

Led by Mike Rutter.  Starts 10.30 am.  All welcome.
