Sunday 18 November, 10.30 – 11.30 am: Let your light so shine

Light figures largely in spiritual traditions. The Buddha said: “Why curse the darkness? You just have to light a candle.” Jesus said he was the Light of the World, that enlightens us all, and Shakespeare refers to a candle in the night as “like a good deed in the world”. Even scientists say that an outpouring of light started the Big Bang that gave rise to the Universe. It is interesting that “Eon”, the name of a major power supplier, actually means “Eternity” in Greek!
So if the light is within the world and within us all, how can we find it and make it manifest in ourselves, society, and even the wider world?

Tuesday 13 November, 7.30 – 8.30 pm: Singing meditation

Join us for an uplifting evening of simple song chants from a variety of world traditions interspersed with periods of meditative silence. No experience of singing or meditation required. The acoustics in the space are simply wonderful. All welcome to join in or just to listen and soak up the relaxing atmosphere. Please feel free to bring simple song chants to share with the group. Sunday 11 November, 10.30 – 11.30 am: Remembrance Sunday

“He shall judge between many peoples and shall decide for strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more; but they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree, and none shall make them afraid.” Micah 4:3-4

Join us as we remember those whose lives have been broken and lost in war, and we renew our hopes for peace.

Tuesday 6 November, 7.30 – 8.30 pm: Simply mindfulness meditation

In these turbulent times we often seek a means of coming to ourselves, of revealing the natural harmony between our body, thoughts, feelings, and spirit. In this meeting we shall try some simple methods of mindfully observing our inner world and returning to our innate wisdom, so that we can go back to the outer world and act for the good of all.
No previous experience of meditation required.
